Summers, a global markets analyst, launched an investment newsletter firm, GPS Capital Research, with one goal in mind: to make international investing safe and transparent to the ordinary investor.
Summers spent the last five years covering global markets and insider trading at Stansberry Research, a financial research firm in Baltimore, Maryland. In that capacity, he wrote about international investment opportunities to an audience of over 140,000 readers.
His new firm GPS Capital Research- the GPS stands for Global Profit Strategies-aims to provide readers with safe, profitable means of investing in global markets without sending their money overseas or setting up a foreign account. "There are many ways that you can profit from global markets without sending a cent of your money abroad. Few U.S. investors realize that many foreign companies actually trade on U.S. exchanges," Summers comments.
Summers travels extensively, researching global markets firsthand. He publishes the safest, most profitable investment opportunities he finds in his monthly newsletter International Wealth Advisory. Annual subscriptions cost $120 a year: $10 per issue.
As Summers puts it, "Most people don't have time to fly to Dubai or Singapore to do their own investment research. That's where I come in. I go to these places and make contacts with asset managers, bankers, etc. I then report my findings to my readers. I guess I'm a bit like a financial advisor who lives out of a suitcase."
Unlike most newsletter firms, Summers also invests in his own recommendations. However, readers are always given a 48-hour head start on both the purchase and the sale of an investment. "I wouldn't trust anyone who doesn't have any skin in the game. My readers know that our interests are aligned together. And since I publish my personal buy and sell prices they also know they got a better price than I did."
For Summers, international reporting extends beyond the written word. He carries a portable recording device with him, posting bi-weekly audio updates from remote locations.
